MedBest Interim Leader Named Finalist for Prestigious Award…Showed Steadfast Leadership During Hurricane Milton!

That’s why we’re especially proud to share that Faith Regan, an exceptional Interim Administrator who we’re honored to represent, has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2026 American Staffing Association Staffing Employee of the Year Award!

Hurricanes wreak havoc and during an interim assignment with us last year in southwest Florida, Faith guided a senior living community during the storm and through the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Her leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment ensured safety and stability for residents, families, and staff during an incredibly challenging time.

MedBest had the privilege of speaking with Faith about her experience during Hurricane Milton and how she kept calm, composed and a true example of steady leadership.

“When Hurricane Milton approached, I had to face one of the toughest decisions an Administrator can make: evacuate our residents or shelter in place. After carefully weighing the risks and not being in a flood plain, I chose NOT to evacuate but instead to activate the facility’s detailed preparedness plan.”

“At the same time, communication was critical, and it was important to reach out to every family, giving them clear options: bring their loved one home, allow them to remain safely in our care, or join us at the facility to stay close during the storm. This ensured that families had peace of mind, and their residents felt supported, safe, and never alone.”

Hurricane Milton started around 10 pm and it was vicious. In no time, water began seeping into the facility beneath the doors. Without hesitation, Faith and her team immediately moved all residents to the 2^nd floor. The first floor then flooded with water measuring over 2 feet.

Faith along with all the department heads worked tirelessly around the clock. No one stopped until there was certainty that residents were safe and cared for.

When Milton finally passed, the exhaustion set in but so did the gratitude. Family members and residents alike expressed how much they valued Faith’s calm, clear communication and the leadership shown throughout the ordeal and how staff members pitched in.

Faith was surprised to be a finalist for the ASA award. For her, it was all in a day’s work as an Administrator. Faith shared that she is touched to be named a finalist stating: “Thank you to FoxHire and MedBest for nominating me for this award. I am so honored to represent MedBest in every Interim Administrator role I go to!”
