4206 – ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING/MDS – RESPECTED SKILLED NURSING & REHAB CENTER – ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA

Hiring: Assistant Director of Nursing / MDS Role 

Location: 60-Bed Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center – St. Petersburg, FL

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our client’s team as an Assistant Director of Nursing & MDS Professional. This is a key clinical leadership role responsible for ensuring this facility maintains compliance with infection control standards and supports ongoing staff education and development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Infection Prevention:

• Develop, implement, and monitor the facility’s infection control program in accordance with CDC, CMS, and state guidelines.
• Conduct routine infection surveillance and ensure timely reporting of infections.
• Lead infection prevention initiatives, audits, and outbreak response protocols.
• Provide training to staff on proper PPE use, hand hygiene, and other infection control measures.
• Serve as the facility’s Infection Preventionist for all survey and audit readiness.

Staff Development:

• Coordinate and provide onboarding orientation for all new clinical staff.
• Conduct mandatory in-services and ongoing education to ensure clinical staff meet regulatory and facility standards.
• Track competencies, certifications, and annual training requirements.
• Support nursing leadership with performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Assist with clinical policy updates and training implementation.

Qualifications:

• Active Florida RN license in good standing.
• Prior experience in infection prevention and/or staff education in a healthcare setting (LTC/SNF preferred).
• Familiarity with CDC, AHCA, and CMS guidelines.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
